Cotton Culinary Delights Lone Star Shootout Attendees With Exciting Menus

As dozens of the nation’s top billfishing teams took to Port O’Connor, Texas, for the 2023 Lone Star Shootout, the Cotton Culinary team packed our mobile kitchens and made the trip to cook fresh meals for the participants.

With a history of serving as the official caterer for the annual sportfishing tournament hosted by the Houston Big Game Fishing Club, Cotton Culinary was proud to continue the tradition for 2023. It’s a big responsibility to be the sole source of fuel for the hungry fishermen, but it’s a task we were well-equipped to handle.

Focusing on Nourishment

As competitors strove to earn the Perpetual Champion’s Trophy and spectators worked up an appetite following the action, Cotton Culinary was behind the scenes to serve delightful and filling bites to keep everyones’ energy up throughout the day.

Bold Flavors for the Lone Star Shootout

Throughout the six-day event, Cotton Culinary brought the flavor with various themed meals, including:

  • A Cajun Feast: Shrimp boils, jambalaya, Cajun-style potato salad and bread pudding with a bourbon bananas foster sauce
  • A Classic Cookout: Gourmet burgers and hot dogs, smoked gouda macaroni and cheese, bacon bourbon maple navy beans and banana pudding
  • Steak Night: Grilled ribeye, twice-baked potato casserole, yeast rolls, salad bar and mixed berry and peach cobbler
  • Sushi Lunches: Rolls prepared with fresh tuna caught daily by the fishing teams themselves
