Cotton Culinary Wins People’s Choice Award at 2023 Best Bites Competition
While most Texans were just starting to dust off their boots and get ready for the Houston Rodeo’s World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest, the Cotton Culinary team was already hard at work for the Rodeo Uncorked! Roundup and Best Bites Competition, an event that pairs over 100 signature dishes from local restaurants with more than 250 award-winning international wines.
Things were heating up in the kitchen as Executive Chef Wade Schindler and team cooked up their signature dish for 2023, The Cotton Pearl, an entrée consisting of Wagyu beef on toasted brioche with sweet potato hay and a side of cotton candy topped with demi pearls and gold dust. As the nearly 6,000 attendees milled about the competition, they voted on which contestants should earn the People’s Choice Award, while judges tasted and assessed dishes for distinctions like the Tasty Tradition Award and Lone Star Entrée Award.
The Cotton Culinary team was honored to earn the 2023 People’s Choice Award for the Cotton Pearl, which delighted attendees with an exciting combination of savory and sweet.
We’re proud of our team’s accomplishments, and while we were at it, we enjoyed the World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest, presented by Cotton Holdings. We fired up our grill to make sure everyone entering the Cotton ‘Q Club had a plate of food they’ll be dreaming about until the 2024 Rodeo.
