Quick and Easy Summer Cocktail Recipes
As we enter the middle of another sweltering summer, it can be so tough to find ways to cool down when relaxing under the summer sun. Fortunately, the mixology masters at Cotton Culinary have you covered!

WATERMELON MOJITO
MAKES 5-6 SERVINGS
INGREDIENTS
- A bushel of fresh mint, around 10 sprigs or 40 leaves
- 6 large slices of fresh watermelon
- 9 oz. of a rum of your choice
- ½ cup simple syrup (a syrup of equal parts water and sugar, boiled over low heat)
- 3-4 oz. of fresh lime juice (about 3 limes)
- Small watermelon spears and fresh mint for garnish
DIRECTIONS
- Cut your watermelon into chunks with the seeds and rind removed.
- Drop into food processor and puree until smooth.
- Muddle your bushel of fresh mint leaves.
- Combine all ingredients besides garnish in a large carafe or serving pitcher and stir to combine.
- Place ice cubes in glasses and pour your watermelon mojito mixture over.
- Complete your drink with a garnish of mint and watermelon spear, and enjoy!
CITRUS CHAMPAGNE PUNCH
MAKES 8 SERVINGS
INGREDIENTS
- 1 chilled bottle of champagne or sparkling wine of your choice
- 4 oz. of grapefruit juice
- 4 oz. of orange juice
- 4 oz. of simple syrup (a syrup of equal parts water and sugar, boiled over low heat)
- 1 oz. of grenadine
DIRECTIONS
- In a punch bowl, pour your chilled champagne or sparkling wine.
- Slowly incorporate your fruit juices, syrup and grenadine.
- Garnish with fresh citrus slices and serve. Enjoy!
CITRUS MEZCAL COCKTAILS
MAKES 1 SERVING
INGREDIENTS
- 2 oz. of a mezcal of your choice
- 4 oz. of grapefruit soda
- 1 oz. of a rosé of your choice
- 1 oz. of freshly squeezed lime juice (about 1 lime)
- 2-3 sprigs of fresh thyme
- Worm salt and grapefruit wedges for garnish
DIRECTIONS
- Cut a wedge of the lime and use it to rim your cocktail glass with lime juice before dipping into a bowl of worm salt to coat.
- Take a cocktail shaker and pour in your mezcal, rosé, and lime juice.
- Shake until fully chilled and mixed.
- Fill your salt-rimmed glass with ice and pour your cocktail in.
- Top with grapefruit soda and garnish with fresh thyme and a grapefruit slice.
